GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. THE DEPUTY COMMANDANT FOR AVIATION IS COMMITTED TO A ROBUST MARINE AVIATION TRANSITION/CONVERSION (T/C) PROGRAM WHICH BALANCES AVIATOR INVENTORIES WITH FUTURE MARINE CORPS REQUIREMENTS. THIS MARADMIN SEEKS APPLICATIONS FROM NAVAL AVIATORS WHO DESIRE TO BROADEN AND CHALLENGE THEMSELVES BY TRAINING IN A
KC-130T SQUADRON WITHIN 4TH MAW. THESE SELECT INDIVIDUALS WILL FACILITATE THE INTERCHANGE OF PROFESSIONAL AND TACTICAL EXPERTISE WITHIN 4TH MAW AND MARINE CORPS AVIATION.
2. THE 4TH MAW KC-130T T/C SELECTION BOARD WILL MEET ON OR ABOUT 01 MAY 14.
3. ELIGIBLE OFFICERS: THE RESERVE KC-130T T/C PROGRAM IS OFFEREDTO NAVAL AVIATORS WITH LESS THAN 16 SATISFACTORY YEARS CREDIT TOWARD A RESERVE RETIREMENT AS OF 30 NOV 14 WHO ARE ABLE TO COMPLETE 18 SATISFACTORY YEARS WITHIN 24 YEARS OF COMMISSIONED SERVICE.
A. RESERVE COMPONENT NAVAL AVIATORS TO INCLUDE SELECTED MARINE CORPS RESERVE (SMCR), INDIVIDUAL READY RESERVE (IRR), AND INDIVIDUAL MOBILIZATION AUGMENTEES (IMA). ANY RESERVE COMPONENT CAPTAIN WHO IS IN ZONE OR ABOVE ZONE AND HAS NOT BEEN PREVIOUSLY CONSIDERED FOR PROMOTION REQUIRES VERIFICATION BY CMC (RAP) PRIOR TO APPROVAL TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY.
B. ACTIVE COMPONENT NAVAL AVIATORS MAJOR AND BELOW WHOSE EAS IS NOT LATER THAN 30 NOV 14. MAJORS MUST HAVE LESS THAN 4 YEARS TIME IN GRADE AS OF THE BOARD CONVENING DATE.
4. INELIGIBLE OFFICERS:
A. CAPTAINS WHO HAVE BEEN PASSED OVER FOR PROMOTION TO MAJOR IN THE READY RESERVE.
B. INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY SELECTED FOR T/C TRAINING (I.E. CH-46 TO AH-1W), ARE MEDICALLY DISQUALIFIED FOR DUTIES INVOLVING FLYING, OR HAVE HAD THEIR FLIGHT STATUS REVOKED.
C. ACTIVE RESERVE (AR) OFFICERS.
5. ALL OPENINGS REFLECT THE NEEDS OF THE SERVICE AND WILL BE FILLED ON A COMPETITIVE/BEST QUALIFIED BASIS. UP TO THREE (3) PRIMARY APPLICANTS AND ONE (1) ALTERNATE APPLICANT WILL BE SELECTEDFOR T/C TO THE KC-130T. THE APPLICANTS WILL SERVE WITH VMGR-452 INNEWBURGH, NY FOR A MINIMUM OF FOUR YEARS INCLUSIVE OF T/C TRAINING.T/C TRAINING WILL BE CONDUCTED NO EARLIER THAN 01 JUL 14 AFTER ASSIGNMENT TO THE RESERVE UNIT.
6. SPECIFIC SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR THE KC-130T: A MINIMUM OF 1,000 FLIGHT HOURS TOTAL TIME WITH A STRONG BACKGROUND IN INSTRUMENT FLYING. MILITARY OR CIVILIAN FLIGHT TIME IS ACCEPTABLE.PROXIMITY TO DRILLING SITE, EASE OF COMMUTE OR WILLINGNESS TO RELOCATE WILL BE FAVORABLY CONSIDERED. FAVORABLE CONSIDERATIONWILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO HAVE PREVIOUSLY SERVED A MINIMUM OF THREE YEARS AS A SMCR WITHIN 4TH MAW.
7. APPLICANTS ARE REMINDED TO CONSIDER ALL CAREER IMPLICATIONS PRIOR TO APPLICATION SUBMISSION TO INCLUDE MIL-CIV CONVERSION PLANREGARDING CIVILIAN JOB AND FAMILY SITUATION.
8. APPLICATIONS ARE TO FOLLOW REFERENCE (A) FOR SUBMISSION OF PACKAGES AND WILL INCLUDE REFERENCE (B) IN ITS ENTIRETY. APPLICANTS MUST ALSO ACKNOWLEDGE VIA A STATEMENT OF UNDERSTANDING WITHIN THEIR APPLICATION THAT THEY ACCEPT A FOUR-YEAR RESERVE COMMITMENT FOR T/C TO THE KC-130T.

11. SELECTION BOARD RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED BY MARADMIN AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE BOARD PROCEEDINGS.
