GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Reference (a) directs commanders to issue the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) Separation Package to Marines honorably separated at the end of their active service requirement and transfer to the Inactive Ready Reserve. Reference (b) provided instructions regarding the CMC Separation Package related to the passage of command from one CMC to another. This MARADMIN cancels reference (b) and provides instructions for commanders to order new, and update existing, packages to ensure they include the CMC personal letter signed by the current CMC.
2.  Originally, the CMC Separation Package included a personal letter to the Marine signed by the CMC, a certificate of appreciation signed by the commanding officer, and a round display sticker. Currently, there is potential for packages already issued to include a letter signed by a previous CMC. Effective immediately, the CMC Separation Packages and CMC personal letters will be printed and package separately; the new CMC Separation Packages will not have the CMC personal letter already inside them.
3.  Units may requisition the new CMC Separation Package and CMC personal letter through the Marine Corps Publications Distribution System (MCPDS).
    A.  Separation Package. The Publication Control Number (PCN) IS 50100565000; the short and long title nomenclature is “CMC Separation Package.” The unit of issue has changed from “EA” to “TF” for 25; i.e., when a unit orders a quantity of 1, unit of issue “TF,” they will receive 25 individual packages. When the unit orders the CMC Separation Package, they will automatically receive a package of 25 CMC personal letters; the letters do not need to be ordered separately.
    B.  Personal Letter. Units holding on-hand quantities of the CMC Separation Package containing the letter of a previous CMC are directed to order the new CMC personal letter. The PCN is 50100567000 and unit of issue is “TF” for 25.
    C.  Units should order sufficient quantities to meet expected separations over a 90-day period.
    D.  Commanders will remove and destroy letters signed by a previous CMC and ensure the personal letter signed by the current CMC is in the CMC Separation Package prior to issuing it to honorably separating Marines. Using Times New Roman font size 13, commanders will personalize the letter by entering the date below the CMC’s flag, complete the greeting with the Marine’s grade and last name, enter the number of years served (use the number) on the first line, and address the letter at the left hand margin beginning on the second line below the CMC signature block in the below format (including indentation). Cover the embossed flag before printing on a laser printer.
