GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  In coordination with Headquarters Marine Corps, the Marine Corps League has selected the following individuals for the 2015 Marine Corps League Enlisted Awards.  Congratulations to all on a job well done!
    a.  The Gunnery Sergeant Carlos N. Hathcock, II Award.  Sergeant Joseph S. Peterson, Weapons Training Battalion, Marine Corps Training Command, Quantico, VA.  Sergeant Peterson was selected for his significant contribution to the improvement of marksmanship training in the United States Marine Corps.
    b.  The Sergeant Major Wilbur Bestwick Award.  Sergeant Paul E. Middaugh, Headquarters Company, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.  Sergeant Middaugh was selected for his significant contribution to increased combat readiness in a ground combat element of the Fleet Marine Force.
    c.  The Sergeant Major Frederick B. Douglass Award.   Sergeant Jan W. Kamphuis IV, Marine Air Group 28 Detachment, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.  Sergeant Kamphuis was selected for his significant contribution to increased combat readiness in an aviation combat element of the Fleet Marine Force.
    d.  The Sergeant Major Bertha L. Peters Award.  Sergeant Stephanie N. Cosby, Marine Aircraft Group 14, 2d Marine Aircraft Wing.  Sergeant Cosby was selected for her sustained exceptional performance of duty while serving with a Fleet Marine Force Unit.
    e.  The Chief Hospital Corpsman George William "Doc" Piercy Award.  Hospital Corpsman Second Class Robert M. Oldfield, Field Medical Training Battalion-East.  Hospital Corpsman Second Class Oldfield was selected for his significant contribution to increased combat readiness in a medical support element of the Fleet Marine Force.
    f.  The Marine Corps Reservist of the Year award.  Sergeant Anthony R. Hernandez, Reserve Support Unit East, Deployment Processing Command, Camp Lejeune, NC.  Sergeant Hernandez was selected for his contributions to combat readiness within his unit.
2.  All nominees for this year’s awards program are commended for their noteworthy contributions to the Marine Corps.  The competition was exceptionally keen. 
3.  All recipients of the Marine Corps League Enlisted Awards will be recognized at a ceremony at this year's Modern Day Marine Military Exposition, 24 Sep 2015, at MCB Quantico, VA, sponsored by the Marine Corps League.
4.  Logistics and Expenditures.  The Marine Corps League's Capital Marines Detachment will provide transportation to and from Quantico, accommodations, and meals for award recipients and their spouses.  Award recipients should plan to be in the Washington area 22-24 Sep 2015.  Costs for additional accompanying guests will not be covered by the Marine Corps League.  Uniform at the awards ceremony for award recipients is Blue Dress “D" uniform with cover.
5.  Award recipients are reminded that if the value of the travel benefits received from the Marine Corps League exceeds 250 dollars, award recipients must report acceptance upon completion of the travel to their local Staff Judge Advocate (SJA).  The SJA must, in turn, report this information to HQMC Judge Advocate Division for semi-annual Department of Defense reporting purposes.  SF 326 is authorized for use for this report.
