GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Per refs (a) and (b), the stand-alone SAPR 24/7 Helplines were established at all Marine Corps installations to provide victims of sexual assault immediate access to appropriate care and critical information by credentialed SAPR personnel. 
2.  Effective 01 October 2015, the name of the installation 24/7 Helpline will change to the 24/7 Sexual Assault Support Line to avoid confusion between installation SAPR Support Lines and the DOD Safe Helpline.  All commandand installation websites and all Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARC) and SAPR Victim Advocates posters must reflect this change.  In addition, the Marine Corps has revised procedures for the implementation of the 24/7 Sexual Assault Support Lines.  These updated procedures are available to Commanding Officers and SARCS via ref (c).  Ref (c) is available for download on the SAPR SharePoint homepage at the following URL: https:(slash)(slash)ehqmc.usmc.mil(slash)sites(slash)family(slash)mfb(slash)sitepages(slash)home.aspx.
3.  Ref (c) designates the DOD Safe Helpline as the mandatory default backup for all 24/7 Sexual Assault Support Lines.  The DOD Safe Helpline is a DOD contracted service with the Rape,Abuse and Incest National Network, which operates the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization and runs the national sexual assault hotline.  This backup service will ensure victims receive immediate access to advocacy services by forwarding calls to the DOD Safe Helpline in the event the 24/7 Sexual Assault Support Line is not answered. 
4.  Additional 24/7 Sexual Assault Support Line protocols detailed in ref (c) includes DOD Sexual Assault Advocate Certification Program credentialing, website, print material, in-person response, oversight, and auditing requirements.

6.  Protocols outlined in this MARADMIN and in ref c will be incorporated in the next revision of ref (b).
