GENTEXT REMARKS/1. Commander, Marine Forces Reserve, announces the results of the 2015 MARFORRES Career Planner and Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year selection board. Per reference (a), MARFORRES established the Fiscal Year 2015 (FY15) Reserve Career Planner Retention Offensive. Reference (b) established the award criteria for the Reserve Career Planner and Reserve Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year for outstanding performance within the Reserve Career Planner ranks. Reference (c) established the FY15 Reserve Career Planner and Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year awards board policies and procedures.
2. On 3 November 2015, Commander, Marine Forces Reserve, convened an awards board to consider nominations for the FY15 MARFORRES Career Planner and Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year. The awards board was comprised of the MARFORRES Force Sergeant Major, the Force Career Planner, and the Career Planner for each of the Major Subordinate Commands. The quality of the Marines nominated affirms that the Reserve Career Planners and Collateral Duty Career Planners continue to provide exceptional support to the Marines of Marine Forces Reserve. All nominees are commended for their exceptional efforts during the fiscal year. The board selected the following Marines for the respective awards:
a. Marine Forces Reserve Career Planner of the Year: Sergeant Christopher J. Smith, 3d ANGLICO
b. Runner up to the Reserve Career Planner of the Year: Staff Sergeant Andrew J. Watson, 4th LAR
c. Collateral Duty Career Planner of the Year: Staff Sergeant Craig. S. Ricketts, Supply Co, CLB-453
3. Amplifying guidance regarding the awards ceremony for the Reserve Career Planner of the Year and Runner up will be provided via separate correspondence.
4. Congratulations to those selected and Bravo Zulu to all nominated Career Planners. Your outstanding performance in this critical area was commendable, and directly affected the Marines of Marine Forces Reserve in a positive and enduring manner. Keep charging.
