GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The United States Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron (NFDS)(Blue Angels) may select one Marine C-130 demonstration pilot for the 2017-2019 show seasons. Interested officers should submit applications per ref a no later than 30 April 2016. Final selections will be made in July 2016.
2. Qualifications. Applicants should be career-oriented, career designated commissioned officers on active duty in the grade of first lieutenant through major with the following specific qualifications:
A. Marine C-130 demonstration pilot applicants must have 1200 hours of flight time by 30 September 2016 and hold a transport plane commander rating in the C-130 F/R/T or J model aircraft.
B. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 2 years time on station by 1 September 2016. Additionally, applicants currently assigned to III MEF must meet time on station requirements per MCO 1300.8 prior to 1 September 2016.
C. Selectee will be required to remain on active duty for two years following completion of their assignment with the Blue Angels.
3. All Marine applicants shall be approved for eligibility by MMOA prior to selection by the NFDS. Applicants must contact their monitor to determine eligibility prior to beginning the application process.
4. Command endorsements should specifically address the flying abilities and aviation leadership qualities of the applicant. In the event an officer submits an application and is subsequently transferred, endorsements from the gaining command should also be forwarded. Applications received after the 30 April 2016 deadline will normally not be considered. Submit applications to both MMOA and NFDS:
