GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  The Deputy Command for Installations and Logistics is pleased to announce the results for the 2016 Marine Corps Awards for Logistics Excellence.  This event recognizes the achievements of the Corps' top performing logisticians and organizations during 2015.  The following individuals and units will be recognized at the Marine Corps Association and Foundation (MCAF) Ground Logistics Awards Dinner.
1.a.  The First Lieutenant Travis Manion Marine Corps Officer Logistician of the Year is Capt Joseph F. Sgro,Jr., 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade,II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Forces Command.
1.b.  The Marine Corps Enlisted Logistician of the Year is SSgt Deacon T. Matthews, Marine Wing Support Squadron 371, Marine Aircraft Group 13, 3d Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Forces Pacific.
1.c.  The Marine Corps Civilian Logistician of the Year is Chad C. Hildebrandt, Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow, Marine Corps Installations West-Marine Corps Base, Marine Corps Installations Command.
1.d.  The Marine Corps Logistics Organization/Team of the Year (Large Unit) is Combat Logistics Regiment 25, 2d Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Forces Command.
1.e.  The Marine Corps Logistics Organization/Team of the Year (Small Unit) is 1st Marine Raider Battalion S-4 Logistics Section, 1st Marine Raider Battalion, Marine Raider Regiment, Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command.
2.  Congratulations to all of the awardees, and to the Marines, Civilian Marines and units who were nominated.  The nominations received were truly exceptional and the competition was strong.  Your individual and organizational achievements continue to reflect the highest standards of logistics excellence.
3.  No later than 11 February 2016 commands are responsible for ensuring that their respective individual awardees submit an official photo and point of contact information to include name, rank, email address, and work phone number along with all other correspondence via email to the IL organizational mailbox at IL_Award_Nominations(at)usmc.mil.  Additionally, the sender will courtesy copy this message’s points of contact via email.  Ensure the subject line identifies the nominees’ full name, rank, and award.
3.a.  No later than 11 February 2016 the Marine Corps Logistics Organizations/Teams of the Year must submit a primary point of contact's information that will represent the organization/team.  Additionally, the sender will submit the organization/team alpha roster to include name and rank along with all other correspondence via email to the IL organizational mailbox at IL_Award_Nominations(at)usmc.mil and courtesy copy this message’s points of contact via email.  Ensure the subject line identifies the organization/team's full name and award.
4.  The 2016 Ground Logistics Awards Dinner will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott, 1700 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Virginia 22202 on 24 March 2016.  A no-host cocktail hour will begin at 1800, with dinner served at 1900.  Event attire is Civilian Informal (Coat and Tie) for attendees, Service "A" with ribbons or equivalent for other Services for speakers and awardees.  Dinner cost is 45 dollars per person for MCAF Members and 65 dollars per person for Non-MCAF Members.  Attendees must make reservations via the Marine Corps Association website at www.mca-marines. org, select programs/events and select register/view schedule of events to register, or contact Sarah Cohen at 703-640-0174 or email s.cohen(at)mca-marines.org.  HQMC IL is not involved in the registration process; however, please contact the POCs listed in this message for assistance in the event any issues should arise.
