GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The purpose of this MARADMIN is to announce the requirement for all first-time tuition assistance applicants to complete the Higher Education Prep (HEP) course prior to approval for tuition assistance.  The course can be accessed via Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) at website https:(slash-slash)jkodirect.jten.mil/.  The course number to search for is HEP-US001.  The effective date for this requirement is 1 January 2016.  Completing HEP satisfies the requirement for College 101 and installations are no longer required to conduct College 101 classes.
2.  Marines will provide a copy of the course completion certificate to the Education Service Officer (ESO) and the ESO will place a completion entry in the Navy College Management Information System (NCMIS) comment section.
