GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Per REF A, the 1st Quarter IAP Experience Track Panel was held on 14 January. The panel reviewed 9 applications and selected 5 Marines. Based on the background, operational experience,and academic credentials, the below listed officers are approved for the assignment of the Foreign Area Officer (FAO) or Regional Affairs Officer (RAO) Additional Military Occupational Specialty (AMOS), as indicated below (read in seven columns):

2. MMOA-3 will make appropriate entries into the officers permanent records to reflect the AMOS IAW REF A.
3. Per REF A, officers applying for a FAO or RAO AMOS are highlighting their availability to serve in International Affairs and Political-Military billets when not serving in their primary MOS. Officers subsequently declining to serve in such billets willhave their FAO or RAO AMOS administratively withdrawn. Officers witha FAO AMOS are required to maintain current minimum DLPT scores of 2/2/1+ (Reading/Listening/Speaking) per REFS A AND C. Failure to maintain minimum scores will result in administrative withdrawal of the FAO AMOS. Per REF A, all officers designated as FAOs or RAOs are required to possess a completed Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI). Those Marines who do not have a current SSBI will submit a request immediately. This MARADMIN serves as authority to initiate an SSBI.
4. Funding for language sustainment training may be available to Marines with the FAO or RAO AMOS.
5. Questions concerning the International Affairs Program (to include language sustainment) can be directed to the POCs given above.
