NARR//REF (A) IS MARADMIN 296/15, FISCAL YEAR 2016 (FY16) SELECTIVE REENLISTMENT BONUS/(SRB)  PROGRAM AND FY16 BROKEN SERVICE SRB (BSSRB) PROGRAM.//
GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  PURPOSE.  To inform Commanding Officers, Sergeants Major, career planners, and Marines of required changes to the FY16 SRB program in order to support continuing force shaping efforts.
2.  Background.  Ref (a) has been in effect since 01 Jul 2015.
3.  Action.  Commanding Officers, Sergeants Major, career planners, and other Marine Corps leaders will ensure their Marines fully understand the policy changes published in this message.  All of the other provisions of the references remain in effect.
4.  Per ref (a), FY16 SRB's will be suspended for each respective reenlistment zone where the FY16 retention requirement has met or exceeded the annual goal.
    a.  Zone A: the MOS's listed below have met their FY16 Zone A boat space goal and their SRB's will be suspended 30 days from the DTG of this message.  This applies to the following Zone A MOS's:
0231, 0261, 0313, 0511, 0861, 2147, 2621, 2676, 4133, 4641, 5951,
6116, 6156, 6176, 6256, 6257, 6258, 6276, 6326, 6336, 6338, 6694,
6842, 7236, 7257, 7314.
For example, an FY16 0231 first-term Marine who executes a reenlistment 31 days from the release of this MARADMIN will no longer be eligible to receive any SRB.
    b.  Zone B: the MOS's listed below have met their FY16 Zone B planning goal and their SRB's will be suspended 30 days from the DTG of this message.  This applies to all eligible career Marines with the following Zone B MOS's:
6216, 6217, 6256, 6257, 6316, 6499, 7041
For example, an FY16 6216 career Marine, with 6 to 10 years of service (Zone B), who executes a reenlistment 31 days from the release of this MARADMIN will no longer be eligible to receive any SRB.
5.  Per ref (a), Paragraph 3.J. in the list of MOSs, 0681 should have been identified as a Lateral Move MOS.  The line should read: 0681 LM N/A $13,000
6.  Commanders, senior enlisted leaders, and Marines are reminded of the lateral move reenlistment opportunities for interested and qualified Marines.  Open MOS's and their available boat spaces, may be found on the FTAP boat space report located within the Total Force Retention System.
7.  This bulletin is not applicable to the Marine Corps Reserve.
8.  This bulletin cancels on 30 Sep 2016.
