GENTEXT/RMKS/1.  The Deputy Commandant, Combat Development and Integration, and the Commandant, U.S. Army Engineer School have published Army Techniques Publication (ATP) 3-90.4/Marine Corps Warfighting Publication (MCWP) 3-17.8, Combined Arms Mobility, dated 08 Mar 2016.  MCWP 3-17.8 is available for download via the United States Marine Corps doctrine Web site at https:(slant)(slant)www.doctrine.usmc.mil.
2.  Background.  MCWP 3-17.8 is an existing dual-Service publication that serves as reference for commanders and staff, Marine air-ground task force (MAGTF) engineer units, and training developers.  The United States Army conducted a revision in lieu of full rewrite in order to comply with Army doctrine 2015 Campaign Plan guidance.  As a result, the Marine Corps was offered the opportunity to revise content (as appropriate), consistent with the Army’s published timeline.  The United States Army is the lead Service for this publication revision.  The revised publication provides critically needed techniques for planning and execution of combined arms mobility.  The publication is also a valuable reference for Marine Corps formal schools and combat developers.
3.  Coordinating Instructions.  Reference (a) details steps required to request publication hard copies.  Units associated with the publication’s distribution list will receive printed copies of MCWP 3-17.8 via Marine Corps Publications Distribution System (MCPDS).  Units not receiving copies or desiring additional print allocations must follow procedures identified in reference (a), coordinating with their internal S-1 or admin section.  For MCPDS ordering purposes, the publication control number is 143 000163 00.  Hard copies of this publication should be available for ordering via MCPDS within 10 to 12 weeks of the date of this MARADMIN.  When ordering publications through MCPDS, the S-1 or admin section must ensure that they are ordering the current publication.
4.  This MARADMIN is applicable to Marine Corps Total Force.
5.  Release authorized by Lieutenant General Robert S. Walsh, Deputy Commandant, Combat Development and Integration.//
