GENTEXT/REMARKS/ 1. Background. This MARADMIN solicits nominations for the CY15 Marine Corps Counterintelligence Association (MCCIA) Superior Achievement Awards. These awards recognize Active Duty and Reserve (on Active Duty) Marine Corps Counterintelligence and Human Intelligence (CI/HUMINT) officers and specialists in military occupational specialties (MOS) 0204, 0210 and 0211 (including 0202 with the 0204 additional MOS) for outstanding individual achievement during CY15.
2. Eligibility. Marines who have distinguished themselves through the conduct of CI/HUMINT collections, analysis, production,leadership or other CI/HUMINT functions in support of military activities or operations are eligible for nomination by their commands.
3. MCCIA will select one recipient for each MOS identified in paragraph one.
4. Formatting. Nominations should be in Standard Naval Letter Format:font: Courier New, size 12 (not to exceed two pages) and will include the nominee's name, organization, mailing address, phone and fax numbers if appropriate, and a description of achievements and other qualities described in paragraph six of this MARADMIN. A biography not to exceed one page shall be attached.
5. Classification and Routing Instructions. All nominations shall be unclassified in their entirety. Nominations shall be emailed via the appropriate chain of command, with forwarding endorsements, to Major Jeff Starr at the email address listed in the POC paragraph, below. Nominations will be submitted via pdf format, in their entirety, no later than 10 May 2016. Nominations provided after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of HQMC Intelligence Department.
6. HQMC Intelligence Department (code: IOC) will forward nominations to the MCCIA Board of Directors NLT 30 may 2016. The Chairman, MCCIA, will notify the Director of Intelligence, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps of Marines selected for awards NLT 30 June 2016. Selections are based on the significance of achievements, professional and personal qualities exhibited, relative difficulty and complexity,level of imagination or innovation, and personal resourcefulness. Winners will be announced via separate MARADMIN.
7. Awards presentation. MCCIA will present the awards at the 2016 MCCIA Annual Reunion at the Home2 Suites in Jacksonville, NC. Contingent upon individual availability, awards will be presented to recipients during the banquet and awards ceremony in early September 2016. A specific date and time will be provided to recipients and their commands via separate correspondence. Lodging and meals for award recipients plus one, or their designee, will be provided by the Association.
