GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  HQMC Semper Fit (MFS) announces the selection of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton to host the Second World Women’s Military Basketball Championships 23 – 31 July 2016.
2. The Conseil International du Sport Militaire (CISM) is second only to the International Olympic Committee as a multi-sport/discipline organization.  CISM Championships are hosted around the world and provides an avenue for the United States to project a positive image with valuable military-to-military engagement through sports.
3.  A multi-international event at the magnitude of the Second World Women’s Basketball Championship will require base-wide cooperation to support and execute an international championship level tournament of this caliber to meet and exceed the expectations of CISM, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, and the Armed Forces Sports Secretariat offices.
