GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Purpose. This MARADMIN announces information for the Fifty-Fifth Annual Interservice Rifle Championships.
2. Situation. On 18 November 1960, the four service chiefs signed a memorandum of understanding, since modified, regarding interservice small arms competitions. The competitions are open to all regular and reserve members of the armed forces, the National Guard of the United States, and Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) units.
3. Mission. The Fifty-Fifth Interservice Rifle Championship will be held at the Calvin A. Lloyd Range Complex, Weapons Training Battalion (WTBN), Training Command, Marine Corps Base, Quantico, Virginia from 22 to 29 June 2016 in order to promote the Competition-In-Arms Program (CIAP).
4. Execution
A. Concept of Operations
1. Phase 1 - check-in time for competitors will be from 0730-1600, 21 June 2016 at Weapons Training Battalion, Calvin A. Lloyd Range Complex, Quantico, VA in building 27241. A team captains’ meeting will occur at 1600 on 21 June 2016 in building 27241.
2. Phase 2 - at 0800 on 22 June 2016 the Interservice Rifle Championship matches will commence with the opening shot ceremony followed by the warm-up match. The competitive matches will begin at 0730 on 23 June 2016 and will conclude after the Infantry Team Trophy (ITT) match on 29 June 2016.
3. Phase 3 - the Interservice Banquet and presentation of awards will be held at 1800 on 29 June 2016 at the Clubs at Quantico, aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico.
B. Tasks
1. NLT 0700 on 22 June 2016, ensure match fees and banquet costs are paid by cash or check to MSgt Carrillo, building 27241, IOT ensure participation in the event. Match entry fees for participating personnel are: individual matches: $160.00, team match fee: $50.00: Excellence in Competition: $20.00, banquet: $30.00.
2. NLT 0700 on 22 June 2016, teams and individual competitors must confirm intent to participate in the Interservice Rifle Championship matches by registering via the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) website, at
www.odcmp.com, or in person at the Calvin A. Lloyd Range Complex, building 27241.
C. Coordinating Instructions
1. All organizations are requested to provide advanced notice of Very Important Persons (VIP) who may be planning to attend any match function to the match XO, MSgt Carrillo, J. E. at (703) 784-5539 or jorge.carrillo(at)usmc.mil.
2. Commands or individuals participating must provide their own ammunition, arms, and equipment. If Marine post and station teams do not have their own National Match M16 rifles, they will be available for draw from the WTBN armory, building 27250, from 21-29 June 2016, from 0700-1700. Post and station teams shall submit such request NLT 1300, 20 may 2016, to the WTBN logistics officer Capt Malone, E. C. at (703) 784-6751 or evan.malone(at)usmc.mil.
3. All United States Marine Corps competitors will receive their weapons Pre-Fire Inspection (PFI) upon arrival at WTBN. All other service competitors must show proof of PFI for all weapons to the interservice match XO prior to firing.
4. WTBN will provide storage for competitors' weapons during the match if requested. NLT 20 May 2016, competitors will provide the following information to the WTBN logistics officer Capt Malone, E. C. at (703) 784-6751 or evan.malone(at)usmc.mil: dates for storage, weapon type, weapon serial number, name, rank, and DOD ID number of the individual to whom the weapons are issued.
5. Uniform for the competition will be appropriate camouflage combat uniform. Uniform for the banquet will be the appropriate summer service uniform with shooting badges (i.e. USMC Service C Uniform).
5. Admin and logistics
A. Subject to availability, requests for government billeting shall be submitted NLT 22 May 2016 to the WTBN logistics officer Capt Malone, E. C. at (703) 784-6751 or evan.malone(at)usmc.mil.
B. C. Funding for participants is borne by their commands.
D. Specific information concerning the banquet will be provided during check-in.
