GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration, along with the Commandant of U.S. Army Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear School and the Commander of Navy Warfare Development Command published Marine Corps Warfighting Publication (MCWP) 3-37.2 Multi-Service Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (MTTP) for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Passive Defense(semi-colon), dated 13 May 2016. MCWP 3-37.2, MTTP for CBRN Passive Defense is available for download via the United States Marine Corps Doctrine website at https:(slant)(slant)www.doctrine.usmc.mil.
2. Background
a. Marine Corps Warfighting Publication 3-37.2, MTTP for CBRN Passive Defense summarizes existing policy and details responsibilities for units and installations conducting CBRN Passive Defense. The tactical, technical, and procedural data includes information on contamination avoidance and mitigation, protection measures, hazard awareness, and decontamination. The structuring of this publication is designed to support CBRN planning efforts and guide CBRN staff to inform a commander(apostrophe)s decision making process in support of CBRN Passive Defense.
b. This publication supersedes Marine Corps Reference Publication (MCRP) 3-37.2A, MTTP for CBRN Contamination Avoidance, 2 February 2006(semi-colon) MCWP 3-37.2, MTTP for Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Protection, 2 June 2003(semi-colon) and MCWP 3-37.3, MTTP for CBRN Decontamination Operations, 4 April 2006.
c. The principal audience for MCWP 3-37.2 is Service personnel, as well as employees of civilian agencies, executing or supporting the execution of CBRN operations. Users include CBRN staff officers, CBRN noncommissioned officers, staff weather officers, medical personnel, and others involved in planning, preparing for, executing, and assessing military operations linked to CBRN incidents.
3. Coordinating Instructions. Reference (a) details steps required to request publication hard copies, however, this publication will be disseminated via electronic distribution only unless commanders submit compelling needs justification for printed copies. Units requiring print allocations must follow procedures identified in reference (a), paragraph 4a(2). For Marine Corps Publication Distribution System (MCPDS) identification purposes, the publication control number is 143 000130 00.
4. This MARADMIN is applicable to Marine Corps Total Force.
