GENTEXT/REMARKS/1.  Per references (a) through (g), this MARADMIN identifies the initial billet assignment for the (SMCR-IRR) SgtMaj selected on the fiscal year 2016 (FY16) Reserve Remedial (SMCR-IRR) SNCO Selection Board.
2.  The assignment for the newly selected SgtMaj is for three (3) years as an initial assignment.  However, the tour may be terminated early based on the needs of the Marine Corps.  Upon receipt of this MARADMIN, you are directed to prepare the inter-unit transfer order per reference (e) and submit a copy to the Reserve Affairs SgtMaj via email.  All inter-unit transfer orders shall be prepared by the unit administration section in conjunction with the unit commander IAW reference (e).  In no case shall commanders approve the transfer of any 8999 to any other billet than those listed below without prior written approval from the Director of Reserve Affairs.
3.  Upon joining the gaining command, the assignment of the SgtMaj is to the reserve 8999 BIC via the Requirements, Transition, and Manpower Management System (RTAMMS).  All SgtMaj structure is assignable by CMC (RA) and units will not assign a different Marineto the 8999 structure without prior written approval from the SgtMaj of Reserve Affairs.  Only a 1stSgt and SgtMaj may fill a respective 8999 BIC, per reference (d).  The outgoing SgtMaj must be removed from the BIC and placed as EX009 until the inter-unit transfer is completed and for not more than 90 days.  If the outgoing SgtMaj is pending retirement, he or she will be reassigned as EX009 pending release to the IRR awaiting final retirement or immediately following a respective retirement ceremony.  NLT 90 days after 1 October 2016, they will be administratively dropped to the IRR, unless coordinated with the RA SgtMaj.  In no case will a SgtMaj remain double billeted under the same BIC.
4.  The report date for the above SgtMaj is between 1 July 2016 and 1 October 2016.  It is recommended that transfer coordination begin upon receipt of this MARADMIN.  In all cases, Marines are to contact their new unit’s administration section and leadership as soon as possible in order to schedule an exact report date and ensure proper turnover procedures are completed.
