GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Ref (a) is hereby cancelled. This MARADMIN announces the 2016 National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) professional development and training conference from 19-21 July 2016 at the Brashear Conference Center, Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story, Norfolk, VA.
2. NNOA’s mission is to enhance Sea Service operational readiness by providing professional development, mentoring, and recruiting in an effort to achieve a diverse Officer Corps that reflects the demographics of the nation. This year’s theme is, “Engaged and Committed to Developing Sea Service Leaders.”
3. HQMC has authorized USMC funded attendance for no more than a total of (28) twenty-eight service members. Service members wishing to attend should contact the POC at HQMC (MPE) for approval as a funded attendee. Applicants will be approved on a first come, first serve basis. Once approved by HQMC (MPE), an approval document with further instructions will be provided as documentation for DTS travel authorizations. Only the conference/registration fees will be funded by HQMC (MPE). All other travel, per diem expenses, and generation of TAD orders are the responsibility of the approved attendee's parent command. Command funding is not authorized from attendees without HQMC (MPE) authorization. Commands should not include or pay conference/registration fees or include them in the travel claim.
