GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Reference A outlines the PME requirements for all enlisted Marines. The PME requirements for promotion to Gunnery Sergeant have been updated as follows:
1.A. Effective 1 Oct 16, Active Component and Active Reserve Staff Sergeants must complete the Marinenet EPME6000AA Course and then complete either the Resident Career Course or the Career Course Seminar (CCS). For purposes of promotion, both programs (SNCOA Resident Career Course and CCS) will be considered equivalent.
1.B. Effective 1 Oct 16, selected Marine Corps Reserve Staff Sergeants must complete the Marinenet EPME6000AA course, and then complete either the resident two-week Reserve Career Course or the CCS. For purposes of promotion, both programs (Resident Reserve Career Course and CCS) will be considered equivalent.
1.C. Individual Ready Reserve Staff Sergeants are required to complete the Marinenet EPME6000AA Course.
2. Marine Corps University announced the fiscal year (FY) 2017 class dates for the Regional Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academies in reference B. This MARADMIN announces the FY 2017 class dates for the regional CCS.
2.A. The CCS will be executed through the College Of Distance Education and Training (CDET) regional campuses. Class dates for all regions will run concurrently:

2.B. Coordinating Instructions.
2.C. CCS meets once per week, after normal working hours, for three hours over a fifteen week period.
2.D. Students have approximately three hours of preparation (homework) weekly, for each onsite seminar.
2.E. Each seminar maintains a ratio of approximately 12 to 1 (student/faculty).
2.F. Students are assessed through quizzes, short papers, seminar participation, and other written assignments.
2.G. Course prerequisites include: nominees must be a Staff Sergeant or Staff Sergeant select, meet the Marine Corps Body Composition Program standards, and have completed the Career Course Distance Education Program(EPME 6000AA on Marinenet).
2.H. Course Registration.
2.H.1. Reference C is the command screening checklist. Individual units will forward their nominations to the CDET Regional Directors, to include a completed checklist, via the Regional Chief Instructors (RCI), in their respective regions for enrollment in the upcoming class.

3.A. TAD is not authorized for this course.
