GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. The purpose of this MARADMIN is to solicit qualified Marines to execute a lateral move option into primary MOS 0211, Counterintelligence/Human Intelligence (CI/HUMINT) Specialist.  Marines who meet the prerequisites in para (4) below are highly encouraged to apply.
2. The 0211 MOS has been categorized by Manpower and Reserve Affairs as a chronically short, high demand/low density MOS.  The demand for highly-qualified Marines within this MOS will remain high for the foreseeable future.
3. CI/HUMINT specialists must be able to operate both independently and as part of an organized team made up of intelligence professionals with different backgrounds and experiences. They are required to have strong interpersonal skills that enable them to interact with a wide variety of people.  Intellect, flexibility, creativity, and cultural knowledge all contribute to success in this MOS.  Accordingly, Marines who apply for lateral move must meet the high standards established for this specialty.
4. Per Ref (A), the following prerequisites for lateral move into the CI/HUMINT Specialist MOS apply:
4.a. Must be a volunteer Corporal, Sergeant, or Staff Sergeant.
4.b. Must be interviewed and recommended for a lateral move by an assessment and selection board of only CI/HUMINT personnel.
4.c. Must possess a GT score of 110 or higher.
4.d. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
4.e. Must be eligible for a Top Secret security clearance with sensitive compartmented information eligibility based on a single scope background investigation.
4.f. Immediate foreign born family (spouse, parents, siblings, children, and cohabitants) must be U.S. citizens (an exception package may be requested through the HQMC Special Security Office based on Director of Intelligence certification of compelling need and favorable adjudication).
4.g. Must be 21 years of age prior to lateral move into the CI/HUMINT MOS.
4.h. Prior to entry into the MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course (N46HFW2), must have sufficient obligated service to allow 60 months remaining upon graduation.
4.i. Must have taken an accredited typing test and attained a minimum score of 30 words per minute.
4.j. Must be willing to submit to a Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph Examination.
4.k. Must possess a valid U.S. drivers license.
4.l. Must be worldwide deployable at the time SNM is approved for lateral move into the 0211 MOS.
5. Interested Marines should contact their Career Planner or Prior Service Recruiter to ensure they meet the prerequisites in accordance with the references. Marines meeting the prerequisites should contact the nearest CI/HUMINT element to begin the assessment and selection process. A letter of recommendation for Marines who are successful in the assessment and selection process will be forwarded to the Marine’s monitor via the career planner. CMC(Manpower Management Enlisted Assignments) issues final approval/disapproval by separate correspondence. Points of contact for CI/HUMINT Elements: 1st Intelligence BN, MCB Camp Pendleton, CA – COMM: 760-725-6870, DSN: 365-6870 2d Intelligence BN, MCB Camp Lejeune, NC – COMM: 910-451-3659, DSN: 751-3659 3d Intelligence BN, MCB Camp Hansen, Okinawa - DSN: 315-623-3096 MARFORRES, MCSF New Orleans, LA – COMM: 504-697-7204/7287, DSN: 647-7204/7287 MCIA, MCB Quantico, VA – COMM: 703-432-8589, DSN: 278-8589.
6. Marines approved for lateral move will execute permanent change of station or permanent change of assignment orders to a Marine Expeditionary Force where each Marine is required to attend a pre-resident training course. The pre-resident training course will properly introduce Marines coming from various occupational fields to the required knowledge, skills, abilities, and attitude for successful completion of the MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course. Upon successful completion of the pre-resident course, Marines will execute temporary additional duty orders to the MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course, Marine Corps Intelligence Schools (MCIS), located in Dam Neck, VA.  The MAGTF CI/HUMINT Course is 99 training days (average of 140 days including weekends and holidays). This course is predominantly performance-based and requires all students to possess a basic understanding of general intelligence concepts in order to acclimate to the performance standards and academic tempo of this certification course.  Failure to complete the CI/HUMINT Course will result in an MOS reclassification or separation per current MMEA guidelines and applicable Marine Corps Orders.
7. This MARADMIN is applicable to the Total Force.
