In conjunction with Month of the Military Child, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany officials hosted a Little Leatherneck Boot Camp at the Thomason Gym, April 2.
This event gave children, ages 5-13, an opportunity to participate in military-like activities and feel like a Marine for the day.
The children put on their war paint and navigated obstacles while drill instructors and Marines encouraged speedy finishes.
Each child was assigned a specific group and each group was led by a Marine.
Some of the activities were target practice with water guns, throwing water balloons at marked targets, running through various obstacles and physical fitness-style workouts.
Marines talked to the children after the obstacle course, which was followed by a ceremony with cake.
A parade followed the Little Leather-neck Boot Camp.
