MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS BASE BARSTOW, Calif. -- Professional staff members of the House Armed Service Committee were aboard Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow Aug. 6, where they were escorted during a daylong tour of the Nebo and Yermo portions of the installation, including Maintenance Center Barstow, by Base Executive Officer Margaret Carter.
The delegation visited the installation to learn more about MCLB Barstow's joint operations and how the base is strategically and uniquely poised to conduct multiple integrated missions. The staff members requested a "walk and talk" tour for a ground-level understanding of Marine Corps reconstitution/reset/recapitalization efforts and how the base missions relate to Marine Corps and Department of Defense readiness and civilian work force planning.
