In June 1997, Wayne Goodman graduated from Bethlehem-Center High School in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania and attended recruit training at Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island. Upon completion of recruit training in September 1997, Private First Class Goodman attended Marine Combat Training at School of Infantry East at Camp Geiger, NC. He attended the Motor Vehicle Operators Course at Ft Leonardwood, MO from October to December 1997.
Private First Class Goodman reported to 1st Platoon, Truck Company in December. While a member of 1st Platoon, Truck Company, Private First Class Goodman was promoted to the rank of Lance Corporal and served as a Motor Vehicle Operator until June, 1999.
Lance Corporal Goodman reported to Headquarters and Service Company, 4th Supply Battalion, Newport News, Virginia. On 1 June 2000, Lance Corporal Goodman was promoted to the rank of Corporal. He was mobilized in February of 2002 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and promoted to Sergeant on 1 July.
Sergeant Goodman reported to the Motor Transport Platoon, School of Infantry Easy, Camp Geiger, NC where he served as Maintenance Chief and Platoon Sergeant from September 2003 to January 2007.
In January 2007, Sergeant Goodman reported to the Basic Recruiter Course at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego. Upon completion, he was assigned to Recruiting Sub Station Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as a Prior Service Recruiter from March 2007 to April 2010. Sergeant Goodman was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in March of 2010.
Staff Sergeant Goodman executed a lateral move to Military Occupational Specialty 0231, Intelligence Specialist in June 2010 by attending the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Intelligence Specialist Entry Level course at Dam Neck Naval Base, Dam Neck, Virginia. Upon graduation in September 2010 he was ordered to Company B, Intelligence Support Battalion, Aurora, Colorado.
From September 2010 to July 2014, Staff Sergeant Goodman served as the Operations Chief for Company B, Intelligence Support Battalion until its reorganization in May of 2014 where the unit was re-designated as Production and Analysis Company.
In July 2014, Staff Sergeant Goodman was ordered to Company B, Intelligence Support Battalion in Quantico, Virginia. Staff Sergeant Goodman was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant on 1 November 2014 and currently serves as the Senior Enlisted Advisor.
Gunnery Sergeant Goodman’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star in lieu of second award.
