MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C. -- More than 15 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion Marines fired simulated Stinger missiles during a training exercise near 2nd LAAD’s Bravo Battery, Feb. 24. In total, the Marines fired 33 simulated Stinger missiles.
According to Sgt. Rogelio Villanueva, a 2nd LAAD section leader, the training is held once a year.
Marines from the battalion participated in the exercise in order to become proficient at using the Stinger missile.
