The first Department of Defense Warrior Games, hosted by the United States Marine Corps, will take place aboard Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA, June 19-28. This is the sixth year the Warrior Games have taken place and the first time they have been organized by the Department of Defense.

The Department of Defense created the Military Adaptive Sports Program to enhance the recovery of wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans through sport. Since its inception, the Military Adaptive Sports Program has assisted more than 158,000 wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans at 325 structured camps and clinics.

The resiliency and fighting spirit of our nation’s military service members and veterans will be front and center as they compete in this preeminent Paralympic style sports competition, which includes eight individual and team sports. Air Force, Army, Navy/Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Special Operations Command, and British Allied Forces teams will compete, and will be joined by caregivers and military families. The games will feature 270 of the finest wounded, ill, and injured athletes.

The Games are open to the public. There is no charge for admission.
