At approximately 6:15 p.m., Aug. 7, an F/A-18 Hornet with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 115 (VMFA-115) landed at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni. During the landing, the aircraft blew a tire and was temporarily immobilized on the runway.

As a safety precaution, the runway was temporarily closed to ensure the proper removal of the aircraft.
