This Lay Leader’s Handbook is a revision of a manual first published in the 1st Marine Division in August 1961. It represented the cooperative efforts of four chaplains: Chaplain David Plank, Assembly of God; Chaplain F. J. Murray, Catholic; Chaplain Howard Kummer, Jewish; and Chaplain Robert F. McComas, the then Division Chaplain.
