The GEAR is an artificial-intelligence enabled and role-based simulation designed to train and develop MASS-1 Marines by exposing them to interactive scenarios prior to participating in an exercise or deployment. Gunnery Sgt. Evan Fancher, a project officer for Air and Amphibious Systems at Marine Corps Systems Command, demonstrates a prototype version of the new Physical Training Uniform. On April 13, MCSC awarded four contracts to manufacture prototypes for an updated PTU, which will then be tested and evaluated by MCSC.
