Alexander Locconielsen, a low-altitude air-defense gunners with 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, transmits an electronic signal to an incoming drone with the Light Marine Air Defense Integrated System, or L-MADIS, at Marine Corps Outlying Landing Field Atlantic, North Carolina, Oct. 18, 2022. Cpl. Kira R. Lavine with Marine Air Support Squadron 3, Marine Air Control Group 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, breaks two Warrior Games’ records including both the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle swim events. The Warrior Games took place June 1-9 at the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado. Competitors ranged from a Paralympic-style competition for wounded to injured service members from all U.S. branches of service, and this year includes teams from the United Kingdom Armed Forces, Australian Defence Force and Canadian Armed Forces. A U.S. Marine Corps CH-53E Super Stallion helicopter with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 162 (Reinforced), 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), picks up an AV-8B Harrier engine to transport it from the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) to the fleet replenishment ship USNS Big Horn (T-AO-198) during a Helicopter Support Team mission as part of Combined Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX), Dec. 1, 2017, in the Atlantic Ocean. Ken Asato, a corporal with the Uruma City Police Department, exits his vehicle as an “intruder” on Camp Courtney, Okinawa, Japan, June 11, 2015 during bilateral training between service members and the UCPD. The training ensured the camp guard, and the Provost Marshal’s Office are proficient in communicating with the UCPD to mitigate security threats involving service members and Okinawa residents. During the training event, Asato posed as an Okinawa resident entering the base without authorization.
