Marine Sgt. Amber Haddix, Sgt. Bree-Anna Perez, Sgt. Norma Gavilanes and Sgt. The tournament ran in conjunction with the 2019 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Convention. The Marine Corps Recruiting Command has taken deliberate actions to increase diversity accessions and outreach by partnering with and attending engagement events such as WBCA, reprioritizing elements of advertising programs, increasing awareness of scholarships opportunities, and analyzing prospects and processing. The WBCA’s mission is to promote women’s basketball by unifying coaches at all levels to develop a reputable identity for the sport and to foster and promote the development of the game of basketball as a sport for women and girls.
