Marine Corps Utility Task Vehicles receiving multiple upgrades

The Marine Corps’ Utility Task Vehicles are undergoing several upgrades designed to improve the safety and performance of the vehicle. Using critical feedback from Marines and taking inspiration spanning the automotive industry to desert racing, engineers and logisticians from the Light Tactical Vehicle program office at Program Executive Officer Land Systems have been working diligently to research, test, procure and implement changes to the UTV. These changes include high clearance control arms, new run-flat tires, floorboard protection, a road march kit, a clutch improvement kit and an environmental protection cover.

Marine Corps at the forefront for ground-based lasers

A drone-killing, directed energy weapon prototype is now in the hands of Marines. Corps’ moving forward with full-rate production of G/ATOR system

The Marine Corps has reached another acquisition milestone decision by gaining approval for full-rate production of the AN/TPS-80 Ground/Air Task-Oriented Radar system from the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition on May 23, 2019. The G/ATOR system combines five legacy radar systems into a single, modernized solution with multiple operational capabilities, providing Marines with comprehensive situational awareness of everything in the sky.

The Corps’ new fire truck is rolling toward FOC

Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fight Marines are getting a modernized rig—their first in over 30 years. The P-19R ARFF will be the principal firefighting and crash response vehicle for the Marine Air Ground Task Force, and will be able to support all operations where the MAGTF is employed.

NETT Marines bridging the gap between the past and future of amphibious combat - Marines from the Amphibious Combat Vehicle new equipment training team complete an operator course in the vehicle. NETT Marines train to become subject matter experts on new equipment, such as the ACV, in order to teach other Marines how to maintain and operate newly-fielded equipment. In addition to instructing Marines, the NET team reviews and provides input to training manuals and standard operating procedures, help develop ranges and plan field operations for Marines. NETT Marines bridging the gap between the past and future of amphibious combat

At its core, any Marine Corps New Equipment Training Team is responsible for—as the name suggests—arming Marines with the knowledge and skills they need to operate and maintain new equipment to ensure Marines’ future success on the battlefield. When new equipment is fielded, the NETT provide the initial training to experienced legacy system operators and maintainers to help get them acquainted with the new system in the shortest time possible.
