III MEF participates in Resolute Dragon 23 Field Training Exercise

III Marine Expeditionary Force began participation in the field training exercise portion of Resolute Dragon 23 with an opening ceremony on Oct. 14. RD 23 FTX, spanning from Oct. 14 to Oct 31, 2023, is the third iteration of the bilateral exercise hosted by III MEF and the Japan Ground Self-Defense and will feature forces in multiple locations across Japan. Both U.S. and Japan units will rehearse to strengthen their command, control, and multi-domain maneuver capabilities as part of a stand-in force.

3rd Marine Aircraft Wing’s F-35 Squadron Brings Home “Top Honors”

Marines with 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing were recognized for their performance in Exercise Red Flag 20-3, which took place between August 3 and August 15 in the vicinity of the Nevada Test and Training Range in Southern Nevada. Red Flag is an annual war game that has continued to evolve since 1975 and provides Joint Forces with realistic training to help them identify and overcome emerging threats. Blue Chromite is large-scale air-ground training exercise that builds upon the Marine Corps’ sea-borne, rapid-reaction capabilities while maintaining the Corps’ strategic presence in the Pacific.
