U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Randy Whitmore, a platoon sergeant from Company A "Animal", 1st Battalion 7th Marines, leads soldiers from Company B, 1st Battalion Singapore Guards through a mock vehicle check point at the Murai Urban Training Facility here Sept. 22 in Singapore. The Marines and sailors from "Animal" Company train alongside soldiers from Company B, 1st Battalion Singapore Guards as part of exercise Valiant Mark 11. Exercise Valiant Mark, in its 10th iteration, is an annual exercise conducted by U.S. Marines and the Singapore Armed Forces in order to maintain a high level of interoperability, enhanced military to military relations and to enrich mutual combat capabilities through combined training.
