Lance Cpl. Adam Cardenas, honor graduate for Mike Company, and a Redlands, Calif., native, returns the platoon's guidon to one of his drill instructors during graduation aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Jan., 17. Cardenas was promoted to the rank of lance corporal because of his leadership skills, 1st class physical fitness test, 1st class combat fitness test and expert rifle score.
