MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. (Nov. 5, 2013) - Lt. Gen Richard T. Tryon speaks with Privates Harlee Bradford (left) and Itzel Milan about their motivations to undergo infantry training. The two privates volunteered to undergo infantry training as a test bed directed by The Commandant of the Marine Corps. After the training, the female Marines will go on to their military occupational specialty schools just like the Marines who attended Marine Combat Training. Though the Marines won’t be infantrymen after their training, they are still proud to be a part of the first women to undergo the training.“To be the first at anything is motivating,” said Milan.
