Lance Cpl. Alexis H. Vavages, left, uses an M256A1 chemical agent detector kit to screen simulated chemicals while Cpl. Rachee K. Roberts radios in any detections Aug. 28 during a training event as part of Exercise Ulchi Freedom Guardian at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma. The tests were conducted as a chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear defense drill. The M256A1 chemical agent detector kit changes color based on various chemicals that may be in the area. Vavages is from Casa Grande, Arizona, and is a supply clerk with Marine Tactical Air Command 18, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Roberts is from Savanna, Georgia, and is an administration specialist with MTAC-18.
