A partner nation servicemember fast ropes from a tower at the JDF Up Park Camp in Kingston, Jamaica during Exercise Tradewinds-2016, Thursday, June 23, 2016. Fast roping is a method used by troops to descend from structures or helicopters quickly without using anything other than their hands and feet to control the speed of their descent. Tradewinds is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored exercise hosted by Jamaica and includes 17 partner nations who are engaged in training activities to enhance skills, partnership and security cooperation throughout the region.
