Capt. Jason Grimes, a UH-1Z Cobra pilot with Marine Light Attack Squadron 369 from Hibbing, Minnesota, is the first pilot to complete the Aviator Immersion Program in Bridgeport, California. Grimes completed the training with 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment and 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment.

During the past three years, VMAT-203 has trained more than 130 AV-8B pilots and 2,000 AV-8B maintenance personnel. Within that time period, the squadron has flown over 12,000 flight hours, participated in four deployments for instructor and student training and received the Commandant's Aviation Efficiency Award. Pilch is a fixed wing aircraft mechanic with the Squadron.
