Sullivan was one of five victims of the Chattanooga, Tennessee shootings July 16, 2015. Sullivan was described by his family and fellow Marines as a Marines Marine, and always had a quirky smile that resembled a kid in a candy store.

A group of students attended that the sixth annual Education Symposium to answer a question asked of the them by educators at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia April 16. The symposium was hosted by Quantico’s school liaison officers and held at The Clubs at Quantico. The students came from both Quantico Middle/High School and off-base schools in the local area. From the left are student Aliyah, Dutch, Emily and Donovan.

Yemassee was the first stop for eager recruits seeking to earn the title United States Marine before reaching Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island from 1915 to 1965. Many Marines that fought in wars and conflicts spanning WWI through Vietnam began their transformation at the train station.
