AR RAMADI, IRAQ (May 10, 2005) - An Iraqi man walks past Sgt. Hector Martinez Jr., noncommissioned officer with Team 1, Detachment 3, 5th Civil Affairs Group, while he provides security for his fellow civil affairs Marines so they can inspect an area in the city here. The 28-year-old from Fontana, Calif., and his fellow civil affairs Marines conducted a detailed battle site assessment of two automotive shops that elements of 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, damaged during a recent cordon and search mission. Marines with 5th CAG will ensure the owners are properly compensated for the damages incurred to their establishments. They also assessed other areas in the city they believe need improving.
