Staff Sgt. Robert Phelan, senior drill instructor, Platoon 1021, Company B, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, echos the drill instructor creed as his series commander recites during pick up June 8 aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. The creed says the drill instructors take responsibilty for their recruits and will train them to the best of their ability. This starts training day one out of 12 weeks.
