July 26, 2007. AO Topeka, Iraq. Sgt Cody R. Bigham, patrol leader 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment (1/11), searches through the pockets of a Local National, who was stopped on the roadside of Route Lyman during a security patrol conducted by 1/11. 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment is deployed with Multi National Forces-West in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in the Al Anbar province of Iraq to develop Iraqi Security Forces, facilitate the development of official rule of law through democratic reforms, and continue the development of a market based economy centered on Iraqi reconstruction.
