Master Gunnery Sgt. Janel Spencer, Marine Corps Manpower and Reserve Affairs, talks with University High School freshman Katrina Sloan, of Philadelphia, about the challenges and benefits of Marine Corps service. Spencer took part in the Black Engineer of the Year conference Career Fair Expo in Philadelphia Feb. 17-18. She said she hopes students look at her own success and aspire to follow her example.
