Major Gen. Joseph L. Osterman, commanding general, Marine Corps Recruiting Command, is promoted to his current rank by Gen. Joseph F. Dunford, Jr., Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, during a ceremony here July 2. Major General Osterman, a native of Edgewater, Md., thanked his family for their devotion and sacrifice during his career and asked his wife, Jennifer, to assist in pinning on his rank. He also took a moment to address the MCRC headquarters staff, and expressed his appreciation for their continued diligence and hard work under his command.
