Staff Sergeant Jonathan Castro (right), the staff non-commissioned officer-in-charge of Recruiting Substation South Dade, and Sgt. Jonathan Demi (left) block the path for a participant in the Miami Superhero Scramble March 24, 2012. The Superhero Scramble is 3.5 miles of wicked terrain with 18 or more obstacles including major water crossings. The race is designed to test the competitors’ resilience, strength and endurance. Marines from Recruiting Station Fort Lauderdale, Fla., brought a unique intensity to the event by putting participants to the test with a series of Marine inspired exercises, including ammo can lifts, a log run and burpees.
