Staff Sgt. Kristy Shaffer, drill instructor, Company P, 4th Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C., has one of the poolees repeat "Aye Aye ma'am" during an initial strength test at Recruiting Station Indianapolis Sept. 17. "Aye aye" is a term used in boot camp as an acknowledgement and understanding of the order given by a superior officer.
