PACIFIC OCEAN (Oct. 2, 2006)--Marine SSgt. Palmer W. Simpson, Selinsgrove, Penn., assigned to the Aviation Combat Element (ACE) Maintenance team of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit/Special Operations Capable (MEU/SOC) deployed aboard USS Boxer (LHD 4) checks an SH-53 Helicopter's hydraulic system. The Maintenance Team performs checks on aircraft to ensure flight readiness and safety. Boxer is the flag ship for the Boxer Expeditionary Strike Group (BOXESG), operating out of San Diego, Calif.; which is reporting operationally to Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 7/ Task Force (CTF) 76, the Navy's only forward-deployed amphibious task force.
