061020-N-5067K-009 USS Essex (LHD 2), At sea, Oct. 20, 2006 -- Philippine Naval Special Operations Group (NAVSOG) SEAL sniper team exits a Philippine Navy BO-105C helicopter and they rotate teams for High Angle Sniping training with U.S. Marine Corps Special Operations Training Group (SOTG) instructors as part of Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX '07) and Talon Vision (TV 07). PHIBLEX and Talon Vision are bilateral exercises between the United States and the Republic of the Philippines designed to increase military interoperability and cultural ties. Essex is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group also comprised of the dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) and the transport dock ship USS Juneau (LPD 10) all based in Sasebo, Japan.
