050713-M-0438D-006 MARINE CORPS BASE TERNATE, BARANGAY SAPANG TERNATE, CAVITE, Philippines - Lance Cpl. Somphou Gi places mud into a hole that houses two pounds of TNT during the Caynipa road project here July 7. The TNT was placed in sub-level holes that were dug by the combat engineers and then compacted with mud to control the explosion and better destroy the remnants of the ordnance for safety reasons.
