An Iraqi soldier from the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Brigade, 1st Iraqi Army Division digs up a possible cache site in Eisawid, Iraq during a cache sweep operation on an abandoned farm in the Diyala River Valley. The al-Anbar based 3rd Brigade has been operating in Diyala since early January in support of the 5th Iraqi Army Division and Coalition forces conducting clearing operations in the province. Once a stronghold of Al Qaeda in Iraq, aggressive patrolling on the part of the 2nd Battalion and other units of the 3rd Brigade have returned peace and stability to the once volatile province.
