Lt. Gen. John G. "Glad" Castellaw was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal May 9 at Henderson Hall. Born and raised in Crockett County, Tenn., Castellaw was commissioned into the Marine Corps in 1972. Castellaw is retiring after 36 years of service. He most recently served as deputy commandant of Programs and Resources, Headquarters Marine Corps.
